Melanie Moore

Melanie MooreB.Ed Honours, NPQH

Founder and CEO, Cornerstones International Founder, Cornerstones Education, Author, Curriculum Simplexity: A Practical Guide to Developing Your Primary Curriculum (Routledge)

Mel Moore has spent over thirty years shaping primary education in the UK and internationally. She founded Cornerstones Education fifteen years ago with a single purpose: to give primary schools a curriculum they could be genuinely proud of and has built it into one of the most trusted names in UK primary curriculum design, now working with more than 1,000 schools.

As the author of Curriculum Simplexity: A Practical Guide to Developing Your Primary Curriculum, published by Routledge, Mel has contributed to the wider conversation about what great primary curriculum design looks like: how it simplifies without dumbing down, how it gives teachers confidence without constraining their creativity, and how it places children’s learning at the centre of every decision.

Cornerstones International is the next chapter of that mission. Mel has spent years working with and visiting British international primary schools across the GCC and North Africa, listening to the leaders, teachers and families who make British international education what it is. She understands the pressures, the complexities, and the opportunity to deliver a world-class British primary education in a global context.

Mel personally leads the curriculum thinking behind Cornerstones International and works directly with partner schools on curriculum design and school improvement. She hosts the Cornerstones International Primary Curriculum Webinar Series, bringing practical, evidence-informed curriculum guidance to international school leaders across the region.

The 2028 British curriculum changes run through everything Mel does. She believes that the schools which invest in their curriculum backbone now, before the new programmes of study arrive, will be the ones that serve their children best in the years ahead. Every school that partners with Cornerstones International is already on that journey.

Melanie Moore's guide to curriculum design

Melanie Moore’s guide to curriculum design

Published by Routledge, Curriculum Simplexity is Mel Moore’s contribution to the wider conversation about what genuinely great primary curriculum design looks like.

The book explores how curriculum can be simplified without being diminished, how schools can cut through the noise of too many resources, too many platforms and too many competing priorities, and find the clear backbone that makes teaching confident and learning coherent.

It is the thinking behind Cornerstones International, brought into the open.
